Write a Tale when…
- The piece is meant to stay part of your character’s history, not disappear
- You’re building something section by section — a scene, some dialogue, an image, a scene break — that adds up to a real piece of writing
- You want readers to be able to find it later, on your profile, rather than only in the moment you post it
- It’s the kind of announcement, world update, or in-character post that matters beyond the next 24 hours
Tag the Tale with a content type — scene, character moment, dialogue, event, world update, announcement, artwork, or in-character — so readers know what they’re opening.
Write a Story when…
- You want to share something quick and are fine with it disappearing after a day
- You’re asking your followers something — a poll, a quiz, a question sticker
- You’re counting down to a scene or Room you’re hosting and want people to get a reminder
- It’s a reaction or aside, not something that needs to live on your profile permanently
They’re not competing formats
Most active writers use both — Stories for the day-to-day, Tales for the writing that’s meant to last. If you’re not sure, ask: would I want to find this again in three months? If yes, it’s a Tale.
